Tin(Ⅱ) Chloride DihydrateCOA Report
  • CAS No.:10025-69-1
  • Molecular weight:225.65
  • Appearance:Colorless monoclinic crystal prism.
  • Package:25 kg/drum

Colorless crystals.Crystals or solution absorbs oxygen from the atmosphere to become non-soluble oxychlorides. Disintegrates in high temperatures.Readily soluble in hydrochloric acid. Soluble in water of lower density. Becomes insoluble basic salts when dissolved in large volumes of water. Soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetic acid glacial and sodium hydroxide solution.Adding small quantities of tin can prevent oxidization in the solution.Melting point at 37 ~ 38 ℃ (rapid heat).Corrosive and poisonous. Fatality at 50% in rats at 7.83 mg/kg.

It is used in such industries as dye, perfume, mirror making and tinplate; it is used for alkaline tin electroplating and electroless tin plating as well as electroplating of such alloys as copper-tin, copper-zinc-tin and nickel-tin alloys; in non-metal electroless plating process, it is used for preparing palladium activating solution.
